Mziki Bush Weekend
Mziki bush weekend – always a privilage – always a jol!
Other than for our hosts Alan and Carrol, it has been a while since Larry, Lori and ourselves had all been together at Mziki. In fact it was two years ago !
Joining us were Larry and Lori’s besties Cindy, Simon and …… from a country they were referring to as “Kanadia’ – or, for those that speak real English, Canada.
And then a late entry to this group was Chris, the major shareholder of No.9, who through circumstance had to stay over for the weekend.
Larry’s luck or ‘skill’ as he prefers to call it, had us tick 4 of the big 5 in the first game drive. Of course we were endlessly reminded of this ‘skill’ for the remainder of the stay.
And then there was KOOS ! Chris had rescued an older Nyala several years ago whom, upon recovering, came to the conclusion that Mziki 9 was a far safer for a buck with diminishing athetic abilities and subsequently moved into the protected electric fenced area close to the house and food source. The rappor and bond between Chris and Koos was something we will never forget. Still, why Chris named him Koos remains a mystery.
